Containing many vitamins and minerals, as well as specific compounds that have been shown to have neuroprotective effects and help improve cognitive function & brain health. Lion’s Mane provides nourishment for the brain, crossing the blood-brain barrier to directly support brain cells, and contains beta glucan polysaccharides to support immune health (*)

# Nr.1 NOOTROPIC

Compounds that have a protective effect on the brain while supporting its natural cognitive functions like improvement in focus / mental clarity / memory.- are called nootropics

Science once believed that the brain could not grow new brain cells. That once our brain developed during childhood, and we reached adulthood, we had all the brain cells we’d ever have. Now we know that neurons can regenerate.

Specific naturally occurring bioactive compounds, including hericenones and erinacines, are thought to be responsible for this mushroom’s brain boosting effects.  Erinacines are found in the mycelium of Lion's Mane Mushroom and hericenones are limited to the fruiting body.

These important nootropic compounds found in Lion’s Mane can cross the protective blood-brain barrier. They stimulate the synthesis of and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) and NGF (nerve growth factor). NGF is a protein that plays a major role in the maintenance, survival and regeneration of neurons. They both help to promote the growth, repair, and normal functioning of neurons, keeping them strong and healthy. Neurons are the nerve cells that are the building blocks of our brain and nervous system. When various neurological disorders occur, your brain is unable to produce its own internal source of NGF.

Both BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) and NGF (nerve growth factor)are necessary for neuroplasticity, the generation of new neural pathways in the brain.

IMMUNE BOOSTING

Just like other potent medicinal / functional mushrooms Lion's mane also contains diverse phytochemicals, including polysaccharides, such as beta glucans that help the body to regulate the immune system, either in suppressing an overactive immune system or in helping to build up a damaged immune system. This is important, as the immune system function is truly at the core of what makes one healthy or sick. Beta Glucans stimulate the immune system by activating macrophages and natural killer cell function (macrophages are those white blood cells that attack and remove foreign particles and pathogens). When lymphocytes and macrophages are activated it causes increased production of cytokines, which are the messengers of our immune system. This immune modulatory effect means that Lion's Mane can benefit people needing immune support and people with autoimmune disorders

Adaptogenic

Lion's Mane is ta potent adaptogen and is traditionally used in various parts of the world to increase resistance to stress and strengthen the immune system.

Fight against Dementia

Neurodegenerative Diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia are conditions that result from cell degeneration in the brain. Our brain’s ability to wire new connections decreases with time and that is one possible explanation why when we get older we have the tendency of our brain’s functions to weaken.
Studies have found that there are two special compounds in lion’s mane mushrooms that can stimulate the growth of brain cells: hericenones and erinacines.

From studies with mice, Lion’s Mane is believed to be able to prevent the neuronal damage from amyloid-beta plaques, which accumulate in the brain during Alzheimer’s disease and reduces the symptoms of memory loss. For now no such studies have been executed with humans.

However there are studies with adults that show great results for improving the brain functioning. In just four months they have seen huge improvement in the older people who took 3 grams of powdered Lion’s Mane daily.

So despite the facts we need to keep in mind most of the studies have been conducted in animals or test tubes, so there is a need for more research with humans.

fight against parkinsons

Parkinson's disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder.  Although no cure has been found yet, Lion's Mane is one of many examples of natural remedies used that may reduce the symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease.

DUAL EXTRACT

All medicinal mushrooms have two sets of nutrients: alcohol soluble nutrients, and water soluble nutrients. Most of the medicinal compounds of Lion's Mane mushrooms are only obtained from a dual extract meaning both water and alcohol.

The dual extraction method simply entails performing two separate extracts of alcohol first, then water, and combining them together at the end.

Herbal Cacao uses a potent dual extract of >30% Polysaccharides
