MUCUNA PRURIENS | THE DOPAMINE BEAN
Mucuna has been revered for thousands of years as a powerful adaptogenic tonic in Daoist practices, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In Ayurveda, it is valued for its aphrodisiac and rejuvenating properties, while in TCM it is classified as a ‘jing’ herb—nourishing the body’s essence and life force. Mucuna pruriens is one of the richest natural sources of L-Dopa, a direct precursor to dopamine. This compound stimulates dopamine release in the anterior pituitary gland (often referred to as the body’s master gland), triggering the production of key hormones. Among these is human growth hormone (HGH), known for its regenerative, anti-aging effects. HGH plays a vital role in reducing stress, promoting muscle growth, increasing strength, and supporting healthy testosterone levels.

Cacao and vanilla have been paired since ancient times by both the Maya and the Aztecs. Vanilla’s sweet, calming scent helps soothe the mind and deepen the heart-opening qualities of cacao,inviting softness, sensuality, and connection.

Step 1: Choose your dosage:
10-20 grams = Regular serving
20-30 grams = Meditative serving
30-50 grams = Ceremonial serving
Step 2: Add warm liquid. Warm up your water, (plant) milk, or tea on low heat (75-80°C). Then, add your dosage of cacao to your favourite cup.
Step 3: Mix, blend, or whisk. This product is unsweetened (containing naturally occurring sugars). Feel free to add any sweeteners/herbs/spices of your choice.

Cacao is always best enjoyed fresh, ideally right after opening, and shared with loved ones. If not, be sure to store it in a cool, dry place.
To extend its shelf life (up to two years or more), keep your cacao away from moisture and temperature fluctuations. As a natural, preservative-free product, ceremonial cacao is more sensitive than commercial chocolate and may change in texture over time.
If it melts or shifts in appearance, don’t worry—it’s still perfectly fine to use and retains all its nourishing properties.
