The 4 Main Health Effects

Ceremonial cacao can have various effects on our health and overall well-being and been used for centuries in spiritual and ceremonial practices.

1. Deepen your spiritual journey: Many people believe that it can facilitate a deeper spiritual experience, connect them to their inner selves, and provide a sense of guidance and insight.

2. Nutrient powerhouse: Cacao is rich in various nutrients, including antioxidants, minerals (such as magnesium, iron, and zinc), and vitamins (such as B vitamins). These nutrients can support overall health and contribute to a balanced diet.

3. Mood enhancing: Cacao contains several compounds, including theobromine and anandamide, which can contribute to feelings of happiness, euphoria, and relaxation. Powerful heart opening: Ceremonial cacao is known for it’s heart-opening qualities. It can promote a sense of emotional connection, compassion, and self-reflection, allowing you  to delve deeper into their emotions and cultivate a greater sense of empathy and love.

4. Natural energy booster:  Theobromine and in trace amounts caffeine present in cacao, can provide a gentle boost of energy and improve focus and mental clarity as they works as natural stimulants.  This can be particularly beneficial during ceremonial practices that involve meditation, introspection, or creative endeavours.

Whilst the majority of people consuming ceremonial cacao experience the above positieve effects, others may experience other subtler changes. Additionally, the overall impact on health and feelings can depend on factors such as dosage, individual sensitivity, mindset, and the ceremonial context.

OUR Recommendation > Navigate YOUR right Ceremonial Cacao dosage

Who should be extra careful with their Ceremonial Cacao dosage?

The Ceremonial Cacao from Herbal Cacao, is crafted with love and intention and invites you to embark on a journey of self-discovery, guided by the gentle caress of this sacred plant

Walking the path of ceremonial cacao, I understand that everyBODY is unique, each with its own rhythm of absorption and capacity. While cacao is inherently safe and nurturing, its magic lies in finding the perfect dosage for you.

A regular serving size for ceremonial cacao is around 20 grams. If your intention is to go a bit deeper on for example your meditations, 30 – 40 gram is usually used. and for ceremonies, 40 – 50 gram . However said its so very important that the individual listens to the body of what is good, what feels good, what intention you have, your experience etc.

Herbal Cacao has crafted special ceremonial cacao paste, that come in a 100-gram disc, – perfectly designed for easy division into 10 pieces of 10 grams each. This thoughtful structure ensures that you encounter the ideal dosage every time, a dosage that is both safe and nourishing for your body.

See the FAQ's on the Herbal Cacao website for more information

While moderation is key, the journey with cacao is deeply personal. Start with smaller amounts, listen to your body, and gradually increase to align with your intention and experience.

Who should be extra careful with their Ceremonial Cacao dosage?

For those new to the cacao journey or facing certain health considerations, we suggest starting with a modest 10-20 grams. This low dosage is perfect for those under the age of 12, pregnant in the first or third trimester, on specific medications, or prone to intense anxiety or headaches.

As you grow in familiarity and intention, consider indulging in 20-30 grams for your daily ritual or meditation.

For the seasoned cacao drinker engaged in profound ceremonies, a dosage of 30-50 grams is suggested, with a gentle reminder not to exceed 50 grams in a single serving.

Individuals taking specific medications or undergoing chemotherapy treatment should adhere to a meditation dose to avoid potential adverse effects. Pregnant women, while generally safe to consume ceremonial grade cacao, are advised not to exceed 15-20 grams to prioritize the well-being of both mother and baby.

Again I emphasise the importance of moderation, especially for expectant mothers. While most babies thrive with cacao in their system, It is recommend not to exceed 20 grams during breastfeeding until you gauge your baby’s reaction.

If you’re incorporating one of the medicinal mushroom blends from Herbal Cacao, such as Brain Power with Lionsmane mushroom or Immune Support with Chaga mushroom into your wellness routine, it’s crucial to note that these blends may interact with immune-suppressing medications. It is recommended consulting with your healthcare provider before combining these blends with immunosuppressive medication to avoid any counteractive effects.

While I discourage the consumption of a dosage above 50 grams, I also acknowledge that each person’s journey is unique. Experienced individuals may choose to explore higher dosages, understanding that it is essential to listen to your body and exercise caution.
