Some vessels are simply made. Others are shaped by hand, one breath at a time, to hold something sacred.

Our Handmade Ceremonial Cup is created for the moment before the first pour, when cacao is prepared with intention and the day softens into ritual. Each cup is shaped, carved and painted entirely by hand by Italian ceramic artist Veronica Pala, which means no two are ever exactly alike. The one that arrives in your hands is the only one of its kind in the world.

Made by one pair of hands

Veronica shapes each vessel from raw clay, letting the form find its own gentle, organic curve. Once leather-hard, she carves a band of fine geometric detailing around the foot by hand, a nod to ancient ceremonial patterns and highlights it with a pale inlay before glazing and firing each piece individually. It is a process measured in days, not minutes: the kind of craft that carries the love and intention of the maker into every cup.

Two natural characters

Choose the colour that speaks to your ritual:

  • White: made from white clay with a soft, luminous glaze and a hand-carved band at the base. A vessel that lets the deep colour of cacao take centre stage.
  • Brown: made from warm red clay, earthy and grounding, its carved foot picked out in pale relief. A vessel that feels like holding a piece of the earth she came from.
Held for ceremony

This cup is made to be hugged. Petite and rounded, it sits comfortably in two hands, the perfect size for a cacao ritual. It invites you to slow down, warm your palms, and meet your cacao with presence. Whether you begin your morning with her, close a busy day, or gather friends for a shared ritual, the cup becomes part of the moment, a small, beautiful anchor for intention.

The beauty of the handmade

Because every cup is individually crafted, you may notice subtle variations in tone, glaze, shape, size and the hand-carved detail. These are not flaws, they are the signature of a real human hand and the mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind piece. Expect small, delightful differences from the photographs.

To honour the craft and keep your cup beautiful for years, we recommend gentle hand-washing with warm water and mild soap, and avoiding sudden temperature shocks. Each piece is handmade artisan ceramic, please treat it with the same care you would any handmade object.
